Captain Misa's Hill :: Donji Milanovac- Djerdap - Serbia

Over the last few years, on Kapetan Misa’s hill, in the vicinity of Donji Milanovac, Stefanovic family realizes the concept of rural tourism in their own way with the significant premises of eco and ethno tourism.

Improving the space in this location, the family succeeded in making up the concept which creates the feeling of impressionism and admiring to each visitor and guest. Apart from being hospitable, they offer products to visitors and guests from their own eco program (breaded nettle, goat cheese with dill, corn bread from Djerdap gorge region – made of water mill corn flour, lamb prepared in special iron pan, medovaca-stekovaca brandy and other things), which, regarding the fact that this is the unique eco location and intact nature (over 400 trunks of various fruit trees are not treated with any chemical preparation and the same method is applied to their own production of vegetables) leaves nobody indifferent.

Entire impressionism is completed with the unique outside gallery “Man, Tree and Water” with more than 300 sculptures in tree, which author is Zivorad Stefanovic, a host on Captain Misa’s hill.

Apart from the accommodation in the apartment 3/2, they offer to their visitors the unique possibility of visiting well-known places in the surrounding (Archeological find “Lepenski Vir”, Rajko’s Cave, the most attractive part of Djerdap gorge - Kazan and other places) and especially moving along the path of health to the beautiful view – Kovilovo – the top of the world with the possibility of collecting very rare class of medicinal herbs.

All these mentioned above make this location one of the most attractive new destinations at Djerdap gorge at the moment. This is proved by the fact that only last year Captain Misa’s hill was visited by more than 3500 guests, mostly foreign citizens among them, Germans above all, but from other countries as well.
This location is 180 km far from Belgrade and 6 km far from Donji Milanovac. Height above sea level is 173m and it got its name after great Serbian humanist, merchant and tradesman, Misa Anastasijevic.
